Introduction to Safety Maintenance of Distribution Equipment

What is the safety maintenance procedure for power distribution equipment?

Next, the manufacturer of high-voltage distribution boxes will introduce it to you in detail.
After receiving the power-off notice, the electric welder staff member disconnected the relevant circuit breaker power switch, took over the circuit breaker, and locked the tools in their hands.

Additionally, they hung warning signs and placed maintenance covers around the machine equipment that had not been powered off.

2. After closing the high-voltage and low-voltage power supplies, it is essential to conduct an electrical test before starting the operation.

3. When performing high-voltage electrical testing, a testing device of the corresponding high-voltage level should be used.

During the testing process, it is essential to wear high-voltage insulated gloves that have passed the test. First, conduct experiments on energized machines and equipment. Only after confirming that the function is reliable can the testing be carried out using this device.

4. The electrical testing should be carried out on both sides of the input and output lines of the construction equipment. For outdoor power transformation equipment, the electrical testing should be conducted under dry weather conditions.

5. After confirming that there is no electricity, connect the grounding device of the construction equipment and implement the three-phase short-circuit fault prevention measure to ensure the safety of the maintenance staff who are making emergency calls or performing maintenance work. This is a reliable safety precaution.

6. Electrical connection points should be installed at all possible points where the construction equipment can be switched on. For low-voltage switch cabinets, for enterprises with dual power supply, when repairing the circuit breaker or knife switch of one bus duct or the high-voltage load switch, not only should the two bus duct knife switches be opened separately, but also connection points for wires should be installed on both sides of the construction knife switch.

7. When installing the wire connectors, the grounding device should be connected first, followed by the connection of the wire. When removing the wire connectors, the sequence should be the opposite of this.

8. The wire connectors should be placed in areas that can be easily accessed by the workers at all times. The high-voltage distribution box should also be placed there. At the wire connectors, a “Some People Working” warning sign should be placed. The legal supervisor of the work should frequently inspect whether the wire connectors are in good condition.

9. It should be emphasized that the power switches at all levels of the construction equipment must be completely disconnected. The circuit breaker or switch must be turned on to ensure that there is at least one obvious disconnection point at each level. Working on the equipment that only has the oil power switch disconnected is strictly prohibited. Additionally, it is necessary to be cautious of the possibility of reverse closing from the low-voltage side through the high-voltage side of the transformer. Therefore, the transformers related to the construction equipment must be disconnected from both high-voltage sides separately.

10. If work is interrupted in the middle and then resumed, all safety precautions should be rechecked. Once everything is normal, work can resume from the beginning. When leaving the site, the room should be locked and someone should be assigned to watch over the outdoor area.
