Prefabricated cabin type substations

Prefabricated cabin type substations are designed based on the core concept of “standard distribution type” by State Grid Corporation of China, combining traditional box type substations with the style of containers.

With the acceleration of the construction of smart grids, the speed of substation construction is relatively lagging behind.

In order to accelerate the construction cycle of smart substations, State Grid Corporation of China has proposed a standard distribution type substation construction model, which achieves rapid promotion and practical application of smart substations (prefabricated cabins) through the scheme of “standardized design, factory processing, and prefabricated construction”. As a result, prefabricated modular substations have been widely used.

Prefabricated cabin equipment consists of prefabricated cabins, equipment cabinets (or racks), cabin auxiliary facilities, etc. It is manufactured, assembled, wired, and debugged in the factory, and transported as a whole in the form of a box room to the construction site for installation.

Prefabricated cabin, using steel structure box room, equipped with auxiliary facilities such as fire protection, security, HVAC, lighting, communication, intelligent auxiliary control system, centralized distribution frame (cabin), etc. as needed. The environment should meet the operating conditions of substation equipment and the on-site operation requirements of substation operation and commissioning personnel.

Characteristics of Prefabricated Cabin Substation

1.Standardization

It refers to the improvement of the specifications of its cabin after the installation of standard containers and the refinement of various aspects. Make it a box that is conducive to the use of substations.

2.modularization

The cabin is divided into several modular compartments according to the different functions of the electrical equipment, and through the collaborative work of each module, the prefabricated cabin substation becomes a new type of power transmission and distribution facility.

3.Prefabrication

What it means is that the cabin and the configured equipment are prefabricated, installed, debugged, and tested in the factory. After completion, this is a standard prefabricated cabin that meets the customer’s project requirements.
